Good in high handle position
"We have found when in the "low handle" position with bumper plates the handles are on the ground and we have to put something under the plates so they hit the ground first. Other than that they are solidly built."
Why it matters
Gorila Harambe Hex Bar - Precision-Crafted Strength, Made in Canada
Built in Quebec with 1.9" round steel tubing, the Gorila Harambe Hex Bar is engineered for athletes who demand durability, balance, and versatility. Each weld, cut, and finish is done locally using 99% renewable energy and materials sourced within an hour of our facility-because strength should never come at the planet's expense.
The ergonomic hexagonal frame includes two handle heights (1.5" diameter, 28" spacing), allowing you to flip the bar for quick resistance changes mid-workout. This versatility makes it ideal for progressive strength training, from beginners refining form to professionals chasing maximum output.
The hex bar centers the load with your body, reducing spinal strain while increasing power and control. Studies show athletes can generate greater force, speed, and power output with a hex bar compared to a straight bar, making it an essential tool for safe, effective strength development.

"It's amazing what a relatively minor change in hand position can do to make a lift easier. The bar is solid and comfortable to use. Flipping it upside down from the image above (for a "standard" deadlift height with plates loaded) gives you just enough clearance that loading/unloading plates is painless, a pleasant surprise. This bar comes with silly plastic end caps on the sleeve that will not survive regular use. It's purely cosmetic. If this bar ever gets redesigned, it would be amazing if it could be rack-able. It's only a few inches too wide to fit in my power rack."
