Collège Mérici Panthères

A six-station strength and conditioning facility designed to help more student-athletes train safely, efficiently and together.

Collège Mérici Panthères Academic / School Québec City, Québec
Summary
Collège Mérici partnered with Gorila Fitness to create a complete strength and conditioning environment for its Panthères student-athletes. The facility was built around six consistent training stations, allowing coaches to supervise structured group sessions while giving athletes access to strength, power and accessory training from the same organized setup. Following the initial installation, the room was expanded with additional plates, kettlebells, recovery equipment and dedicated storage. The result is a scalable facility that supports daily training while reinforcing the identity of the Panthères athletic program.
Challenge
The Panthères needed more than a collection of individual products. They needed a training environment that could support student-athletes, coaches and multiple teams throughout the school year. The project focused on: Training multiple athletes during the same session Giving coaches consistent stations that are easier to supervise Supporting a broad range of strength and conditioning movements Integrating safety equipment into every station Keeping plates, bars, kettlebells and recovery tools organized Creating a facility that reflects the Panthères identity Allowing the school to expand the room over time
Why Gorila Fitness
A complete facility approach Rather than selecting disconnected pieces of equipment, Collège Mérici received a coordinated system built around six identical training stations. Designed for group training Consistent rack, bench and safety configurations help coaches organize sessions, assign athletes to stations and reduce unnecessary equipment changes. Customized for the school Custom Panthères nameplates transform the equipment into an extension of the institution’s athletic identity. Built for long-term institutional use The core stations were designed for repeated use by different athletes, teams and training groups throughout the school year. Scalable investment The project was completed in phases. The initial facility established the six-station training system, while a later expansion added plates, kettlebells, recovery tools and storage as the program developed. Made in Québec Local manufacturing gave Gorila greater control over the dimensions, configuration, customization and long-term support of the facility.
Implementation

Phase 1: Needs and capacity planning

Gorila worked with Collège Mérici to define how many athletes needed to train simultaneously, which movements the facility needed to support and how the available space should be organized.

Phase 2: Six-station core facility

The room was structured around six Gorila SP3R training stations, each configured with consistent safety systems, pull-up options, dip stations, landmine attachments and dedicated barbell accessories.

Six adjustable benches and six chrome training bars completed the primary training stations.

Phase 3: Customization and organization

Custom Panthères nameplates were integrated into the racks to create a facility that feels connected to the school’s athletic program rather than a generic weight room.

Dedicated attachment and bar storage helped keep equipment accessible without obstructing the training area.

Phase 4: Facility expansion

The school later expanded the room with additional training bumpers, kettlebells, foam rollers, recovery storage and two-tier equipment storage.

This phased approach allowed the Panthères to establish the core training infrastructure first and continue building the facility around the program’s evolving needs.

Results
  • Capacity: Six standardized stations allow up to 24 student-athletes to train during the same session
  • Efficiency: Consistent station layouts make group programming and supervision easier
  • Safety: Each station includes dedicated safety and spotting option.
  • Organization: Plates, bars, attachments, kettlebells and recovery tools have designated storage
  • School identity: Custom Panthères branding makes the facility part of the athletic program
  • Long-term value: The facility can serve multiple teams, coaches and student-athletes throughout the school year
