Gorila Pro Turf Setup Instruction Guide
Welcome to the Gorila Pro Turf Setup Guide! This step-by-step guide will help you install your Pro Turf flooring seamlessly and ensure optimal performance for your gym or sports facility. Follow these instructions carefully to achieve a professional and long-lasting installation.
Tools and Materials Needed
- Measuring tape
- Chalk line or marker
- Utility knife with a fresh blade
- Adhesive (if permanent installation is preferred)
- Seam tape (for joining multiple sections)
- Roller (50-100 lbs) for leveling
- Heavy-duty gloves
- Broom or vacuum
Step 1: Prepare the Installation Area
- Clear the Area: Ensure the space is clean, dry, and free of debris. Remove all furniture and obstacles.
- Inspect the Subfloor: Check for cracks, uneven surfaces, or moisture. The subfloor should be smooth and level for optimal turf performance.
- Clean the Subfloor: Sweep or vacuum to remove dust and dirt. For concrete floors, you may also mop with a damp cloth to eliminate fine particles.
Step 2: Measure and Cut the Turf
- Measure the Space: Use a measuring tape to determine the exact dimensions of the area.
- Mark the Turf: Roll out the Pro Turf and use a chalk line or marker to outline the required dimensions.
- Cut the Turf: Use a utility knife to carefully cut along the marked lines. Make sure to wear heavy-duty gloves to avoid injury.
Step 3: Lay Out the Turf
- Unroll the Turf: Lay the turf sections flat in the installation area. Allow it to acclimate for 24 hours to reduce any curling or tension from being rolled.
- Align the Sections: If using multiple turf pieces, align them edge-to-edge to ensure a seamless appearance.
Step 4: Secure the Turf
-
Temporary Installation:
For non-permanent setups, simply place the turf and ensure the edges are flush against walls or fixed objects. No adhesive is required. -
Permanent Installation:
- Apply adhesive to the subfloor in small sections using a trowel.
- Lay the turf over the adhesive and press firmly.
- Use a roller to ensure even adhesion and remove air bubbles.
- Repeat in sections until the entire turf is secured.
Step 5: Seam the Sections (If Applicable)
- Apply Seam Tape: Place seam tape underneath the edges of two adjoining turf pieces.
- Add Adhesive: Apply adhesive to the tape and press the turf edges onto the tape.
- Roll Over the Seam: Use a roller to flatten and secure the seam for a seamless finish.
Step 6: Final Touches
- Trim Excess Turf: Use a utility knife to cut any excess turf for a perfect fit around walls or equipment.
- Level the Surface: Use the roller to ensure the entire turf surface is even and securely adhered.
- Clean the Turf: Vacuum or sweep the turf to remove any loose fibers or debris from installation.
Maintenance Tips
- Daily Cleaning: Vacuum or sweep regularly to keep the turf debris-free.
- Spot Cleaning: Wipe spills immediately with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
- Deep Cleaning: For larger spaces, use a turf brush or commercial-grade turf cleaner to maintain its fresh appearance.
