Monster Gym

A hybrid training space designed to evolve a commercial gym without dividing its members.

Monster Gym Other Dorval, Qc, Canada
Summary
Monster Gym, one of the largest commercial gyms in Dorval, partnered with Gorila Fitness to modernize their training space with a Monster Rig, without disrupting their existing member base. The goal was not to turn the gym into a CrossFit facility, but to introduce functional training in a way that blends naturally with traditional strength training. Gorila designed a hybrid setup by connecting multiple power racks into a unified structure, creating a space that supports powerlifting, functional training, and general fitness all in one. The result is a balanced training environment that appeals to both experienced lifters and members looking for more dynamic workouts.
Challenge
Monster Gym needed to evolve without creating friction. The space had to deliver: • Functional training without intimidating traditional members • Increased powerlifting capacity • A layout that feels natural inside a commercial gym • Equipment that supports multiple training styles • A clean integration with the existing environment The key was balance, not transformation.
Why Gorila Fitness
Hybrid Design Approach Instead of isolating functional training, Gorila integrated it directly into a power rack structure. Connected Rack System Multiple racks were linked together to create a cohesive training zone rather than separate stations. Multi Discipline Use The space supports powerlifting, accessory work, and functional movements without conflict. Commercial Fit Designed specifically for a commercial gym environment, not a niche training facility. Durability Built to handle high traffic and varied usage from a large member base.
