That’s why we chose to work with specialized suppliers in China, experts in advanced rubber molding and compression technology. What to Look for When Buying Bumper Plates
- Weight Tolerance: Cheap plates can vary by up to 10% in weight, meaning your 45LB plate could weigh 40 or 50LB. Gorila OX Plates are manufactured within a precise tolerance for accuracy and balance.
- Shore A (Sha) Durometer: Our plates measure close to 90 durometer, which means denser rubber, minimal air pockets, and a dead bounce similar to competition plates.
- Durability of 10s and 15s: The higher durometer rating strengthens thinner plates, reducing bending and cracking. (Even with top-grade construction, we recommend dropping plates from no higher than hip height.)
- Steel Inserts: Our precision-engineered steel inserts stay tight over time, unlike cheaper plates that loosen or spin.
- Plate Thinness: More density means thinner plates, allowing you to load more weight on the barbell safely.
Warranty: 10–15LB plates carry a 90-day warranty. 25–45LB plates include a 3-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
