Gorila Ox Bumper Plates - Lb
The Gorila OX Bumper Plates are designed to compete with the best brands on the market, and that’s exactly what they’re doing. We took our time before launching our high-grade Olympic bumpers because we refused to compromise on quality. We wanted our bumpers to meet the highest standards while keeping the price as low as possible.
The result is a thin, dead bounce bumper plate that’s built to last a lifetime. Our unique process also gives the plates a distinctive matte finish—an impressive feature on its own, but we didn’t stop there.
We couldn’t find anyone qualified enough in Canada or the USA, so we partnered with expert suppliers in China. Although Chinese products often face skepticism, when it comes to rubber molding processes and machinery, our overseas suppliers are unmatched in quality and expertise.
What to Look for When Buying Bumper Plates
- Weight Tolerance: Lower quality plates have higher weight tolerance (sometimes up to 10%), meaning your 45 lb plate could weigh 40 or 50 lb.
- Shore A (Sha) Durometer: A high durometer reading (close to 90) indicates a harder rubber with fewer air particles trapped inside, reducing the risk of cracking over time and providing a dead bounce similar to pricier competition plates.
- Durability of 10s and 15s: Higher durometer readings make these plates stronger, while softer plates tend to bend and break easily. (Even with the highest quality, we recommend dropping plates from no higher than hip height.)
- Steel Inserts: Inserts in softer, cheaper plates tend to loosen faster. Quality matters.
- Plate Thinness: Proper compression means thinner plates, allowing more to fit on your barbell.
Warranty: 10-15LB variant plates are warrantied for 90 days. The 25-45 LBS variants are warrantied for 3 years.
